What is Softwashing?

Softwashing is a low-pressure cleaning technique that uses specialist biodegradable detergents to safely clean exterior surfaces that would be damaged by high-pressure washing. Instead of blasting dirt away with force, softwashing kills the algae, mould and lichen at the root — delivering a deeper, longer-lasting clean without any risk of surface damage.

In Inverclyde's damp climate, most exterior staining is caused by living organisms — algae, mould, lichen and moss. Pressure washing removes the visible growth but leaves the spores behind, meaning it grows back quickly. Softwashing kills the problem at source, with results that can last up to three times longer.
